ITINERARY

Day 1:

Head on over to Snowdonia and beyond, crossing onto the scenic and dramatic Isle of Holyhead, Anglesey. This weekend, you’ll seeing the best of the stunning coastline and the sensational activities on offer.

Arrive on Holyhead for around 19:00 to check in, meet the team and your fellow adventurers for a welcome drink before dinner. After dinner we will all get together for a brief and to discuss the plan for the trip.

Day 2:

Wake up refreshed and ready to go. Enjoy a hearty cooked Welsh breakfast (or continental) and then head out for our first epic day!

You’ll start by packing your kit. We’ll give you all you need to keep you safe. After a short drive we will head out to begin our first activity: rock climbing. Towering up over the Irish Sea, Holyhead Mountain is a climbing paradise. You will spend the morning scaling the heights of the towering crag and abseiling back down.

For lunch we will take you back into the village where there is a host of cafes, shops and eateries.

After a scenic lunch by the sea we will take a short drive to the bay and kit up in wetsuits for our next exciting session, sea kayaking. You’ll paddle around the bays and coast. Look out for some inquisitive seals or dolphins who might join us along the way!

After an action-packed day and a quick change, we head back to base for a well-earned drink and hot shower. We’ll share stories over dinner and into the evening.

Optional beer/wine, hammocks, campfire and marshmallows await you back at the campsite bar and chill out area.

Day 3:

After a good night’s sleep, head down for a big, tasty breakfast and fresh coffee or tea.

Once everyone is ready and raring to go, we prepare ourselves for our second day of exciting coastal escapades. Today, you’ll be coasteering; traversing the dramatic sea cliffs, you’ll jump, climb and swim your way to the end. Along the way you will be challenged with washing machines, caves and big jumps for the brave…

After the successful completion of our second day we will return to the hotel for our final debrief and to say our goodbyes over a nice cold drink!

*Please note, unless you have asked to stay an extra night (we can do this for you) you will have already checked out so you will not have access to your room.)

What’s the weather like?

The weather is highly changeable in the mountains, so we advise you to pack everything listed on the kit list. You could be walking in a t-shirt, then an hour later need a full fleece and waterproofs! Your guide will let you know pre-departure if the weather conditions are particularly extreme. However, as this trip is in the summer months, you should expect a mix of sun, rain and wind… a bit of everything!

You can see the Met Office’s weather forecast here.

The coastal sea temperature depends on the time of year. The weather will only matter if it is really windy, as most of your time is spent in the water! In super windy conditions we reserve the right to change venue or cancel as everyone’s safety is our priority. There are also alternative venues we can use to make sure that you get the most out of the day.

What’s the food like?
Breakfast is either a cooked breakfast or continental and dinner is a choice of classic pub dishes. Please tell us pre-departure of any dietary requirements.
How fit do I need to be?

This adventure is classed as: Warming Up.

It’s set for intermediates and beginners who can swim. You don’t need special skills or a high fitness level. If you want something more of a challenge, please see our challenges.
